Description | The intent of the measure that this value set was created for is focused on bleeding that is likely to be etiologically related to in-hospital use of pharmacoprophylaxis for venous thromboembolism. According to the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), the intention of the concept of critical sites is to count bleeding events that are likely to lead to damage with loss of important functions due to their anatomic location (even with relatively small blood loss). |
Purpose | (Clinical Focus: The purpose of this grouped value set is to identify major bleeding events involving a critical area or organ during an encounter.),(Data Element Scope: This value set may use a model element related to Diagnosis.),(Inclusion Criteria: Includes concepts that represent diagnoses that indicate new onset of bleeding involving a critical area or organ.),(Exclusion Criteria: Excludes concepts that represent any bleeding diagnoses that do not involve critical areas or organs.
